Oh pllllleeeassse. Waitresses making $10 p/hr take much more criticism than this. Gentlemen, this is a $25,000 - $40,000 camera body. That is as much as a car. I'm pretty sure Paul has a thick enough skin to deal with suggestions, criticism's and mistakes. When you are selling a camera body for that much money the customer expects things to work right and information to be accurate. At least, I do.

Yes, I do have a thick skin wink.gif
I do enjoy the discussions on LL and try to contribute when warranted.
I find positive criticism a good thing, there is always room for improvement.

Phocus does have a similar look and feel of Lightroom and Aperture and is quite intuitive and easy to use. Does it have DAM capabilities? Yes in the fact that you can move and/or copy files to any location via the browser, you can drag and drop thumbnails in the browser and tag them green, yellow or green (IAA), You can hide images, as an example just show your green tags or green and yellow tags, you can remove any individual or all badges on the images (Crop, Name, Approval, Badges).

Hasselblad includes Extensive IPTC Core data and IPTC Keywords, Coordinates from GPS device, all metadata from from camera that will be embedded in the Raw file.

I have been trying to filter and sort dozens of photos of a young ballerina, to accompany her application for admission to ballet school...

I want to sort the pictures by pose, so I can then pick the best picture for each pose.

I would like phocus to enable me to keyword pictures and them sort and filter on those keywords, so, if I take 1,000 speculative pictures, I could keyword them without processing them or saving them in several file formats, and be able to retrieve them (filter) by keyword when needed.

It seems that to sort my ballerina pictures I will have to create a file name with the pose number at the beginning of the file name - żany other way of doing it?

Dick,

Keyword the images using the keyword tool, then search for the keywords with the search feature. If all 1,000 images are in the same folder it is easy and straightforward.

Thanks Greg.

Please take note, Hasselblad that it would be helpful if this "filter on keyword" function was mentioned when computer/database literate people search for "filter" in the manual (or help file, if there was one).

I got my ballerina picture in pose order by renaming the filename (and appending the job-sequence number) - but it takes several keystrokes - is there any short-cut key?

"Plus I have worked with Paul and David and they're both great guys"

I've been on both sides of digital photography for almost 19 years now.... both sides being defined as a photographer and as a tech support person. There are a
handful of guys out there that have so much knowledge in their heads it becomes supernatural. Paul is one of those guys. I think I've known him for 10+ years.
Rick Ashead of Leaf (now Phase?), Ulf - Phase, Mike-- Betterlight, Ken-- MegaVision, etc.... these guys are ALL willing to share their knowledge, most just love
to sit down and talk to you.

It's a shame when photographers (I'm one so I can say this) get too hyped up on their own hype and egos to take advantage of those guys... they won't be around
forever (as evident in the changing of the companies) It would be great to "download" their brains somehow (ha ha) for future generations. Maybe they should just get together and write a book.

There would be a whole load of junk in there too, padded out with idle day dreaming and trying to decide what gadget I 'really' need next.
