Dear friends,

I am just back from a very fruiteful 10 days in NZ South Island.

The weather was great, and photography was good also:

Comments most welcome.

Nic work, Bernard! Thanks for sharing...

Mike.

A minor point, but one of your NZ shots and two of the Japanese landscape shots didn't get rotated properly...

Thanks Mike.

Hi Bernard,

A fair number of them are masterpieces of composition and lighting. Very well done. And I like how the slide show works on your website.

A very nice set of photos, Bernard. It took me a couple minutes to notice that a larger size image is available. I'm glad I found the larger size option because several of the shots are quite stunning and the smaller sizes don't really do them justice. I think "Alpine Stream" is my favorite--a nice combination of textures with great composition, and the generally neutral cast makes the few bits of color really stand out. Thanks for posting.

Beautiful photos. I was in that part of NZ several years back (still using film), and your photos remind me of how beautiful it was. My favorites of yours were the reflections in Milford Sound and Routeburn falls. The latter has a damp, misty feel to it (which is probably what it felt like at the time; I know most of my time in the southern part of South Island was damp and misty!).

Beautiful work and I love those colors. I must be doing something wrong with my exposures :-) Perhaps I should get up earlier and stay up later...
Thank you for sharing those, for less gifted photographers as myself they provide a wealth of information to study. And enjoy, of course.

Thank you and if I see a freak with a view camera in Kamakura, I'll know it's you.

Thank you all for your kind words.

Mark: Flickr is really cool, I have just subscribed to it, no limit of storage, huge bandwidth, and very cool functions. Plus you can upload your pics by email...

Lisa: well, surprisingly, we didn't have any rain in 10 days, just a few drops during a car journey to Invercargill. The place is gorgious isn't it?

John: I am really glad that you pointed this image out, because it is also one of my favourites, even if it is perhaps less "obvious" than others that are more eye catchy,

Erusan: let's meet in Kamakura then. smile.gif

Bernard,
Thanks for sharing your photos and for doing such a great job of capturing the landscape. I spent a month travelling in New Zealand over the holidays this year and had a fantastic trip. Although backpacking for a month limited my photography.

Unfortunately my time on the South Island was generally overcast and sometimes rainy, thanks for showing me what I missed.

Cheers,
Leif

Thanks for your images Bernard. I love the texture in Lake Howden. I also like the feeling which 'windblown' evokes, and the sense of majesty and texture in 'Old trees'. What paper do you use to print these textural images on???

I haven't any time to print these yet, but my first attempt will be as always on Hanemhule Photorag 308.

Hope you find the time to print them before your next adventure! ...they will look stunning on Hanemhule Photorag. Have you printed the 'great wall' image yet?? How does it look on Photorag?
