Full Version: Monitor Upgrade?

I am planning on upgrading my Lacie Photo20visionII monitor on the next few weeks. I've been happy enough with the Lacie over the last few years, but it seems that LCD technology has now moved on the bigger and better things.

So far all the material I have read suggests that the Eizo CG220 is "the Daddy", but I find the price a bit difficult to accept. I know that when I bought a P30 back I should have realised that I would need to upgrade ABSOLUTLY EVERYTHING ELSE to take full advantage of the P30 and I have a niggleing thought that I really should pay the extra money and get the CG220.

I had finally decided that the Eizo S22410W would be perfect for me, but now I've heard of a new Eizo CE240W that is a bit more expensive than the 2410 but still only half the price of the CG220 but with almost the same colour performance.

Has anyone compared the CG220 with the CE240W or the CE240W with the S2410W?

I saw the CG220 and the CG210N side by side, both were very impressive, the CG220 has to be seen to be understood. I'm going for the 210N though as it's a more realistic price point for me and is a fantastic display even without the AdobeRGB gamut of the 220.

You can get a refurbed CG220 direct from Eizo for $2500. I have the CG21 and totally love it. Cost me over $2600.

I ended up with the CE210W and love it. It was plenty big for me and saved me lots rather than going up to the 24. If I need more room, I'll get a second 'cheap' monitor for the palettes and stuff.
