I am looking at visiting Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve next year. Anyone have any suggestions for lodging? I am open to camping if showers are available. Any recommendations or suggestions would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

I've been there before on more than one occasion. Just a heads up that it's kind of out in the middle of nowhere on the outskirts of Lancaster, which is not one of my favorite places to visit.

If you do a little research, you may be able to find some interesting places to stay near Lake Elizabeth or Lake Hughes. Furthermore, there are some neat photographic opportunities around these lakes throughout the canyons of farms and such.

Another option would be to stay anywhere in the Los Angeles area. The Poppy Reserve is only a couple hours drive from most places in L.A.

Also while you're out there, you should check out Devil's Punchbowl and possibly Vasquez Rocks, which are pretty close to the Poppy Reserve. The rock formations in both these areas are spectacular.
