Is there anyway to open a .cr2 file directly into RAW? When I try to open in photoshop.exe it does not open RAW. I then need to drag the RAW file into PS and then RAW opens.

No sure fo your exact problem...Are you having trouble opening the RAW file in Zoom Browser or Photoshop?

1. If the .CR2 file does not open when you select "Open" from the File menu perhaps you need to update Camera RAW to the latest version?

2. Do you mean that you want to beable to double-click a file and have photoshop automatically open it. You should be able to do this with file type associations, however you may need to choose the Camera RAW plug-in as the program instead of Photoshop.exe. I'll try it here and see what happens...

3. I don't use Zoom Browser, but I do have RAW Shooter setup to automatically open my converted RAW files into Photoshop for futher editing. You can probably do a similar thing in Zoom Browser if that's what you're looking for...

If you could be a bit more specific with you question perhaps I or someone else could help out.

Yes, I just want to open the RAW file by coulbe clicking on it. From there I can set it up in zoom browser. As it is now, Photoshop will open, but then I need to drag the file to the open window in PS, and then RAW starts.

How can I set up file associations to use the plug in for RAW? I looked last night, but could not find an .exe for the RAW plugin in order to set the file association.

You might want to try deleting the file type and then recreating it. There may be a conflict with Zoom Browser. I double checked and my .CR2 files are associated with photoshop.exe and they open fine when double-clicked. First photoshop will open and then Camera Raw. There is no .exe for Camera Raw - it's a photoshop plug-in, but if you double-click the plug-in it will open photoshop to run it. I didn't try associating the files with it as it's not necessary.

I'm still confused - are you using Zoom Browser or Camera Raw to convert your raw files? ...and when you say "double-click" are you talking about from the desktop (or explorer window) or from within Zoom Browser?

I think you are on to something Joe. I distinctly remember now that I could open RAW using photoshop.exe. I think as you ahve said that my associations are messed up--probably due to Spybot. However, I know how to fix it now that you called my attention to it.

I just use Zoom browser to browse the images, then PS RAW to adjust them.

Sounds like you've at least discovered the problem...let me (us) know if you still can't get it to work.
