I've heard a few people mention that you can tape a couple of pins on a teleconvertor which allows you to retain AF on lenses which wouldn't usually let you.

Which pins are taped and will it work with a sigma 2X teleconverter?

first post has a picture. don't know about sigma, but effectiveness will vary - ie in low light you may hunt forever without ever establishing a lock, particularly at 2x.

well at the moment it hunts forever and never focusses. With an F4 70-210mm it sometimes focusses, will have a play with the pins

taping the 3 pins on the lens works on my 100-400 with 1.4x, but does not work on the 300 f4 with 2x (20D)
