Any grip head on a c stand can hold foamcore in place no problem you dont need that contraption at all. That one is for a collapsible reflector which is prone to bending but the foamcore has much more "structure" therefore its stiffer and wont bend easily even when gripped only on one side and held parallel to the ground.

I have a boom I can use, I just don't know how I can attach it..

any ideas?

this is a typical 40in boom arm with a grip head, ehh you basically untighten the head and pinch the foamboard in between the plates.

It's a very usefull tool. It's good for collapsibles, but will work with a foamcore too. The ballhead will allow you to fix the foamcore at various angles/positions. Quite handy...
