350$ in can for any puchaseof 5D and other product, also possibility to double that...
is it time to reduce the stock to come up with something new for canon?

I don't know as a friend of mine got a rebate last Christmas when he purchased his 5D and a 580EX!
Sometimes, they promote rebates to cut off gray market sales or to empty channels before introducing new models.

Here in Switzerland you get a $55 rebate if you purchase the newly released EF 70-200 f/4 IS.

I would hazard a guess at a new version of the 5D being available in February.

How to improve on perfection?!... wink.gif biggrin.gif

I'd like to see more AF points, and possibly more FPS, but aside from that I really can't complain about the current 5D. Weather sealing would of course be a huge positive, but I can't see that happening.

In recent history, Canon has been upgrading/replacing each DSLR model every 18-24 months. As the 5D was announced in August/September 2005, there is a reasonable chance a replacement will announced sometime early in 2007, going solely by Canon's historical timetable.

That said, the original 5D is still a great camera, and the announcement of any replacement won't make the original 5D any less great (but perhaps less appealing psychologically). My advice is: if you need a tool now like the 5D, get it now.

Here's hoping Canon adds Firewire to the next 5D version.
It sure is a sweet camera, though. In fact, I'm about to buy one!
