Michael,
I am a fan of Bruce Fraser's "Real World" books, and wish him well. In the acknowledgement at the end of Ken Maxwell's color management article, Ken included get well soon greetings for Bruce, but did not mention what ails him. PhotoshopNews.com reported in October 2005 that Bruce underwent surgery but indicated that he was on the road to recovery. That was well over a year ago.
If it does not violate Bruce's wishes for privacy, could you please fill us in?
Thanks.
John

That Bruce has been unwell is common knowledge. But I think that his privacy requires that no more be said without his permission.

I'm not one for internet best wishes, however, seeing as I have learned SO much from this guy (Bruce) over the years on the internet and in print articles...I guess it's appropriate...Dude Bruce, get well man...a solid and sincere thought for you.

Jeff Schewe has given some details on Bruce's condition at www.photoshopnews.com
Unfortunately it doesn't sound very hopeful.

Wow that's really sad.
Bruce's books were the first to help me really get to grips with digital methods the way I understood film and paper.
I hope he pulls through but it doesn't sound good.

Word is just out that Bruce has died. Jeff Schewe added a comment to the many others on his site. Use Google for more info.

That is a blow to all of us. He will be sorely missed. I am very grateful for all the help he gave me in various ways.
