Just a note for ipf5000 owners. I just started printing on a roll of Inkpress Chrome Luster that I picked up to make sure the roll feed worked.
The paper is weight 240gsm and thickness 10.4mil. I had to use the #2 heavyweight stopper to get it to feed without jamming.

I'm about to start building custom profiles but using the Glossy Photo Paper media type with the CanonIPF5000 Glossy Photo Paper Highest profile yielded impressive results in an informal test. Very close matches to my profiled monitor.

The Inkpress site does not have any ipf5000 profiles posted but their recommended printer settings indicated using a glossy paper setting.

I hadn't heard much about the Inkpress papers. This roll was at a local shop and had been used, so I picked it up mainly for testing. So far I like it. Nice weight and finer texture than Epson Premium Luster.

Anyone else using this paper?

I just recently discovered the Inkpress Papers with my iPF5000.

I prefer the Inkpress Waterproof Canvas to the other canvas media from Legion, Epson, Fredrix, etc. Seems to give me better color accuracy, even with custom profiles for other canvas.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Inkpress 80 lb Print Plus Matte. Excellent DMax and color accuracy. Actually the nicest matte paper that I've come across and the price is very attractive. Haven't tried the luster, but sure like what I've tried so far.

Thanks Tony. Interesting about the canvas. I have an Inkpress sample pack which a local dealer gave me for free so I'll be interested to test it and the mattes.

I was printing some profile test charts last night as well as some grayscale evaluation charts on both Epson Premium Luster and the Inkpress Chrome Luster. The Inkpress paper is noticeably whiter and just a little cooler than the Epson. The brighter white led to a little better definition in the gray step wedge as well as the full tone gradient. I couldn't see marked differences in the color patches of the test charts but I'll be interested to see how the profiles compare.

The dealer that I got the samples from was very enthusiastic about the paper but I don't know how much fine art printing he's doing. he mentioned that they are supposed to have some new media coming out with very impressive gamuts.

I think the paper is worth looking at. I've been curious that I haven 't heard too much about their paper being used by fine art printers who frequent the boards.

BTW, with the roll stock Chrome Luster, I got the best color charts using "Heavyweight Semi Gloss" media type. Slightly better greens and blues than when using "Semi-glossy Photo Paper".

I also find that the heavyweight semi gloss is the best media setting for all the roll "luster" finish papers. Like you I've been surprised that there hasn't been more notice of these papers. I made some prints on the 80lb matte today that were really impressive.. good color accuracy, dmax, excellent overall. Had the punch that I usually associate with luster papers. I'm going to get some of this matte in larger sizes for fine art printing. The specs sound good as far as achival qualities, but I'm not sure if there has been much testing. I should probably check the Wilhelm site.
