I'm going to send jpeg images on a cd to several juried exhibitions. When I export
JPEG in photoshop there is an option to embed the working profile, in my case Adobe 98.
How do I know the computer system which will show my work will utilize the embeded profile?
Should I even embed one? Thanks!

Though it is difficult to imagine that the jurors would not employ color management and a calibrated monitor, it certainly is possible. Your best bet would be to convert to sRGB much as you would for web viewing. As far as embedding the profile, there are more reasons to do so than not.

Thanks Ed. If there is a profile embeded will the jurors' choice of viewing software (they could be using a jpeg viewer instead of photoshop I suppose) recognize a profile?

As recommended, I'd stick with plain sRGB and embed the sRGB profile to be sure. There are not that many viewing softwares that support embedded profiles, so sRGB is the only 100% surefire way to get (relatively) accurate color.

Exactly! At the moment, there is simply no reason, for viewing purposes, to use any other space - at least not that I am aware of.
