I was curious if 8GB (or larger) CF cards are supported by Mamiya ZD and whether ZD benefits from Sandisk Extreme IV cards vs Extreme III cards.
Feedback appreciated.
Thanks,

I really don't know but I was using 1GB Ultra II cards with the ZD and when upgrading i was considering the Extreme IV option too. You can take a look at Rob Galbraith speed test to make an idea on other cameras. I finally did buy some 4gb extreme III, and I can tell you I don't find any difference between Ultra II and Extreme III so I'm happy I didn't buy the new IV, the price gap is considerable. I've also tried a 4GB Adata card, it worked fine until one day it died. They look so fragile. And they are!!

The notable difference with Extreme IV cards is in read speed with the Extreme IV reader. And that difference is spectacular. If time is money to you, you'll earn back the extra cost.
Without the Extreme IV reader, the advantage mostly disappears.

Dear all,
I have used 6GB micro drives and 4 GB Extreme III cards without issue with the ZD.
There was a bit of a speed advantage for the Extreme III compared to the micro drive, but nothing dramatic.
The bottleneck appears to be mostly on the body.

Bernard

Thanks for the info, everyone. What about the 8GB+ capacity - has anyone tried this?

I have tested Mamiya ZD with 8GB CF card. ZD will save 229 RAW images on 8GB.
It takes 2 minutes to write 10 RAW images to Sandisk Extreme IV 8GB card.
The speed is about 3MB/s ...
