Enjoy the trip to the desert. I'm headed there in less than a week for a climbing trip. I suggest that you attempt to visit the Fisher Towers while you're there. The Fishers are a very unique set of formations you won't see elsewhere.

I just returned from Moab area spent time at Deadhorse State Park as well as Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands. Enjoy the trip!

Here's my take on Fischer Towers. I got lucky with the weather - half a minute later the light was flat. You're right - that area is pretty unique!
