Is great new for us that we don't need go larger than 13 x19, I hopw will have the same print quality of the big brother IPF5000

It was announced at PMA 2006 last year already.
It is 10 inks not 12 so it won't match the iPF series in colour gamut.

The real question for this printer (aside from its actual release since its announcement over a year ago) is whether its colour gamut and lack of bronzing on glossy paper will be as good as the Pro9000 but with the durability of pigment inks. What must Canon be thinking announcing a product so far in advance of release! The only obvious answer is they hope to disuade buyers of the HP B9180 - unless they're having trouble writing a manual as they did for the ipf5000 laugh.gif

Pro9500 is long time overdue.

I do have IPF5000 and luckily one of the trouble free ones. I guess HP B9180 is the king of 13" printers at the moment . Will Canon Pro9500 be a real competitor ?

I do have my doubts. And it's because I can't take Canon seriously when it is about customer service. They are well behind of competitors.
And about the quality of the print or longgevity or technical issues , I will wait and see. I would not see Canon can beat B9180 in these matters as well. HP Z series are already showing how HP has been progressed .

If you are a potential 13" buyer , you might be better off wait a bit more and see some reviews and comparisons before buy a well delayed printer.
