I have a question that i am hoping someone is able to answer for me. I am a new owner of the ipf 5000 and currently purchased a roll of Silver Rag (i have been hearing so many complements about it) anyways i went to the Crane site and downloaded their generic profile and also dl the pdf instructing me to press the "photopaper plus semi-gloss" on the printer menu, so i did. however when i attempted printing on the plug-in, this media does not show up as one of the possible medias available to be printed on a roll. Does anyone have an effective profile that i can use, or can someone give me other alternatives?

I have been looking in that site and the generic profile that booksmart gives is exactly the same as the one in Crane's website. Thanks for the response.

Well, that is good, because Booksmart lists Media Types and other settings for all of their profiles. Just check their website.

Edit: Oops, didn't read your original post carefully enough. If Booksmart used the same Media Type, you are screwed. No way to know what media type is equivalent (if any). Courtesy of Canon you are locked out of what you want to do with the printer. Call them to complain.
