The 4 inch FW cord that connects my Leaf back to the digital magazine is dead. Can anyone suggest a source for a 4 inch FW 400 cord? Preferably a thin one like the Apple cords.

I have also looked for a short cord as a back up. I am also looking for a short 6inch fire 800 cord. I bet you Leaf would be happy to sell us one at a high price.

Try www.granitedigital.com, but don't order off the web site - talk to a salesperson - they are very helpful and knowledgeable.

I've bought 6" cords from them - I don't know about 4".

Their cables are very high quality.

The problem with Granite's cables is that the collar is fat. It doesn't fit into recessed ports, like those on the MFDBs. They definitely don't work with Phase One backs.

I purchased longer cables for my leaf back at frys, and just trimmed the two sides with a razor blade until they fit.

Is $20-$25 considered a high price? Baring in mind that we don't make millions of them?

That's about what I thought they'd cost. My only issue with the Leaf cables is that they're thick and I'd rather have a cable that's thinner like the Apple FW cable.

Do you all make a thinner cable?

The collars on the long cables are fat. They make a 6" cord thin collar cord that fits mf backs. I use it on my sinarback to attach longer cords too. Yes ,I know its an extra connection but it hasn't been an issue for me. I like the quality of their cables.

Granite Digital will make you custom cables and can make them thin. Not as thin as say the iSight cable from apple. But you don't want that. This is what is transferring your data and you want as much fidelity as possible. I would not worry about the thickness at all if i were you. That is the last think to worry about.

Hmmm I never noticed this one before. Maybe it's new. They call it an internal patch cable. So you use that and a dual female adaptor (like their 8555)?

I ended up ordering a 6 inch patch cable with the LED as well as the no frills version from Granite.
