I'm considering the eVolution75 multi-shot digital back. Thierry, which adapter plate series will it use: 54H-type, eMotion-type, or M-type? How confusing is this?

The plates are the M type. The M type interfaces were retooled so that they will work with the Emotion backs and everything currently for the M should work with the Evolution when it ships.

I know it seems confusing with a few different series of plates. But the design of the backs has radically changed since the 54H was shipped. And the Emotion backs were originally designed by Jenoptik. And in general the interfaces have changed from one generation to the next because the backs evolved.

Appreciate the clarification, Matt.
What type plate does the Precision M22 use, if I go that route?
Thank you,
Billy

Completely different series ....... blame Jenoptik on that one. That model of back was developed long before their relationship with Sinar. But I think much of that has to do with changing camera platforms and electronics in cameras.

Matt,
What are the codes for the retooled M-type plates (H, V + Hy6) fitting both the eMotion and eVolution digital backs?
Glad you're jumping in with support,
Billy

Billy,

They have not posted a catalog number for the Hy6 interface as of yet. But here are the catalog numbers for Hasselblad V and H series.

97-6880 Hasselblad H Series
97-6879 Hasselblad V Series.

hi Billy,

sorry for my late "jump-in": was night here in Bangkok!

Matt has given you the information already.

HOWEVER, there is a little mistake/confusion: the eMotion adapter kits are not the same as the SB 54M (the casing is completely different).

- SB eMotion/Hasselblad H1 Adapter Kit: 552.36.079
- SB eMotion/Hasselblad V Adapter Kit: 552.36.070
- SB eMotion/Rollei 6008 Adapter Kit: 552.36.073
- the adapter kit for the eMotion on a Sinar Hy6 has not yet any Art number

The adapter for either the eMotion 22, or the eMotion 75, or the new eMotion 54LV or eMotion 75 LV are all exactly the same as above.

As for the SB 54 M and the eVolution 75H, the same adapters are used:

- Sinarback 54M-eVolution 75H / p3 Adapter Kit is N° 552.45.033: to use the eVolution 75 (or a SB 54M/MC) on a p3

- the same adapter as for the 54 M is used for the eVolution 75H on the H system: 552.45.053

- the same adapter as for the 54 M is used for the eVolution 75H on the V system: 552.45.050

- the same adapter as for the 54 M is used for the eVolution 75H on the Rollei 6008: 552.45.043

- the adapter kit for the eVolution 75 H on a Sinar Hy6 has not yet any Art number

I hope this answers fully.
Do not hesitate for any further question(s).

Best regards,
Thierry
