The #at the end of the box is same..SO41341.
Are they the same i.e. same printer profile?

Yes. Same paper, just a new name. Epson does this every now and then just to confuse us all.

If you want even more fun, the updated drivers seem to reorder the papers in the list (eh, whatever), and there are now three papers with "Presentation Paper" in their title in close proximity (Agh!). Trying to find Enhanced Matte on the first click is like finding a needle in a haystack.

This is what happens when somebody decides it would be an awesome idea to standardize your paper names by just tacking "Premium" or "Ultra Premium" onto the low-end papers' names. I can understand the motivation, as the previous naming system was rather obtuse, but jeez...

Just imagine what we'll get if the Epson and Canon name-inventers combine their efforts: All Epson papers will have names like Super Ultra Premium Fantastic 1NGs13b MK IIIc, Super Ultra Premium Fantastic 1NGs13c MK IIIb, Super Ultra Premium Fantastic 1NGns13b MK IIIc, etc.

While we're discussing confusing paper name changes, there are many third-party paper companies who have me really confused, too.

Innova's a good example. They had FibaPrint Ultra Smooth, which was a 280 gsm paper to be used with MK inks. Then they had F-Type Gloss, which has also been called (in various places) Brilliant Gloss F-Type, FibaPrint Gloss (F-Type), and now officially FibaPrint White Gloss (these are all the same paper, by the way). Lots of places are still advertising the former paper with the original name FibaPrint Ultra Smooth but the official name is now FibaPrint White Matte (Innova actually had this confused on their own web site for a while).

Then there was Innova FibaPrint Satin and FibaPrint White Semimatte (which are the same paper, actually).

And now, best of all, we have FibaPrint Ultra Smooth Gloss, a 285 gsm paper for PK ink, which is not to be confused with the original FibaPrint Ultra Smooth, which was a 280 gsm paper for MK ink.

Clear as mud?

To be perfectly honest, I think Canon's funny naming (e.g., 1D Mark IIn or 1D Mark III) is actually pretty clear by comparison ... I mean, I have no confusion in my mind what the differences are between a 1D, a 1D Mark II, and a 1D Mark III. At least the camera manufacturers don't change the model names once they come out. Imagine the confusion if Canon suddenly decided to rename the 1D Mark III the 1S Mike II, or something.

Seriously, I know plenty of folks who gotten confused by all the paper-renaming antics and bought the wrong paper. When was the last time you bought the wrong camera by accident?

That's right. Fortunately, I'm reasonably certain that each Eric is a distinct person, and hopefully we won't be changing names anytime soon just to confuse the rest of us ...

Just a brief addendum to the Innova story: a friend of mine got a pack of the FibaPrint White Semimatte paper recently. Despite the fact that the outside label said White Semimatte, and the inside product sheet (with specifications, etc.) also had this name, it turned out that the actual paper itself was the FibaPrint Warm-Tone Gloss ... very different paper. (Thanks to Jim for helping us figure this out!)
