I just read an ad in the Denver Post about this cool little ruggedized camera for the active outdoor user.
It's called the "Hero" and straps to you wrist. It's a 3 megapixel camera with a fixed 48mm equivalent focal length F2.8 at ISO 100. Uses a secure digital card up to 2 gig and is waterproof and functional to 100 feet. It doesn't have a flash, but with a dive light still could be decent. I uses my little 2 megapixel Olympus C2000Z that way and got decent images at up to about 40 feet with ambient light and the dive light.
It has a pretty impressive movie mode. It shoots 58 minutes of VGA (640x480), is optically stabilized and from the video and other sports samples it seems to have a good enough shutter response to get action photos. It's extremely light and has a wrist attachment and other attachment gear plus some pending for helmet's, etc.
The company answered my email with questions about the camera very promptly (same day) and gave me a link for specifications. It's a California based company made up of outdoor enthusiasts who wanted a camera which wouldn't be in their camera bag when a shot opportunity presented itself.
Looks like a fun camera and definitely priced right.
