Yes. You need to test the focus as the symbols are only vague suggestions.

Wouldn't suggest any of the pinholes though.

Thanks Mark, can you see what's in focus thought the viewfinder?
Also, did you like the results?

I did. I returned it for a regular Holga 120N. The reason was simple - while the digital has its advantages (all the advantages of digital vs film) the Holga's characterstic signature is the "vignette" and square format which really cannot be achieved effectively out-of-the-box with your DSLR (of course you can do post processing...but you can post process any image anyways - you dont need a Holga lens for this....)

My take on this subject is if you want to shoot Holga - buy a Holga! no alternative is better than the original....BTW, the whole camera is cheaper than the lens alone...

Try using some old expired B&W film (eBay) - or i normally use XP2.....Didnt like Velvia at all....in fact most slides dont work that good on this...just try any cheap negative film and get it cheaply processed in a local drugstore....and scan it in.

I made one of those myself a couple of years ago. Funny to see it begin sold at holgamods. All you need is a Holga, a body cap, some basic tools, and some epoxy.

The problem is the crop factor. The Holga lens covers 6x6 film, so even on a full-frame body, you're getting the very center of the lens -- and it's way too good!! I could never get the ethereal look with the soft corners and vignetting that I like so much from "real" Holgas. With a 1.6x body, you get even less of the lens.

Heck, if I want soft corners, all I have to do is haul out my Canon 17-35/2.8L. (I just wish I were joking.)

This might work better with the lens from a toy camera made for 35mm or instamatic film.

Like the regular Holga cameras I prefer to use them in overcast/shade/cloudy conditions. Under these circumstances I like the lens. No, it doesn't have the square bleed-out like the rollfilm cameras, but it is what it is and I use it for what it does provide.
