The Canon 1ds Mark II can be set up to save both RAW and JPG formats for each photo taken. Does anyone know if the Kodak Pro 14n also has this capability?

Thanks,
Scott

When the Kodak was new, simultaneous RAW and JPG saving was touted as an earth-shaking feature. Both my D70 and my D200 do this. If it's important, I'd test the camera to confirm this function.

The SLRn .. which was an upgraded version of the 14n can ... I have one if you are interested!... But I really wouldn't bother!

Thanks, but no, I'm not looking to get one. I was just researching the specs for someone else.

I have had both and the Kodak can do it , but unlike the 1ds2 writing to card slows painfully with any jpeg use and it really is much better used as exclusively as a Raw only camera.

Yes it can, it can write raw to one card and jpg to another. Treated well at what it does best the Kodak is still a match for any DSLR. Another good think about the Kodak, you can create and name folders in camera to shoot to, I wish my Canon would do that.

Don't get me wrong, despite the body limitations I thought the 14nx a great camera and the files easily on a par with the 1ds2 up to 400asa with better colour straight out of the camera. A learning curve yes but then the 1ds2 has been too.
The main reason I switched ( and I would have preferred to stay with a Nikon option as I have quite a few lenses and had to replace most of them with Canon equivalents) was simply I wore it out and there was no FF replacement ( very important to my shooting style) on the Nikon or Kodak horizon.
