I've noticed two days in row, afte imported drom a CF Card, I can't get LIghtroom to quit. I"ve have to force quit, not LR, but whole computer. anyone notice this? any idea? thanks
kevs
Very consistent:
CF wont eject, whole program freezes, whole computer freezed , have to unplug computer, and all external hardrives don't mount. This is most unstable software I"ve seen in long time.

Well, it would be useful to include _SOME_ basic stuff...like what OS are you on? That's troubleshooting 101, ya know? How the heck are we supposed to guess what's wrong without it.

Sorry for being frazzled Jeff, you know how it is when you have to force quit. That said, my guess is that it's LR's fault, although, to be fair, I have not tried yet in Bridge CS3 the full import of renaming and converting to DNG, and adding metadata -- maybe it would freeze there too, who knows. But it was consistent last two days, after doing all that (what a great combo that all is BTW), the card would not eject and the program freezes up.

Have you read "Problems Importing From CF Cards in v1.0" on Lightroom Journal website?

Thanks FRancois! that seems to cover it well.

BTW, can't find, " Render Standard-Sized Previews option in the Import dialog" to turn it off

You have access to this setting when you import photos. I've attached a screenshot of the import dialog and circled in red the option checkbox.
Let me know if it helped you.

thanks F. I think that was unchecked, I'll look next time import.
