I need some help choosing a Gitzo tripod. The tripod will be used for commercial photography on location with a Hasselblad H2 equipment.

I need the best compromize between weight and stability, and the locks must be quick to handle.
I like the carbon models.

Also which monoball head should I choose ?

If you want something roughly eye level and 3 sections, get the GT3530LSV (ignore the video bowl, you don't have to use it). If you want the capability to shoot higher off the ground with four sections, get the GT3540XLS.

For a ballhead, get either the RRS BH-55, Arca Swiss B1, or Markins M20.

Any of the above combo's would be very sturdy, reasonable weight, and very user friendly - though not cheap.

I currently have a Canon 5D and a H2 Phase p30.

If I had to do it again I would get the LEFT option for the Markins M20. I love their camera plates. The PL-55 plate will work with the H2, this is direct info from Markins USA. I have the 5D plate as well. I leave it on all the time, it has smooth edges and I don't even know that it is there.

I am 6'3" and this is the best all around set of sticks out there -cost- no- object.

I really like my Markins M20 as well. I have the "Right" version, and would order the "Left" if I were doing it again.

It's very slick in operation, lighter than the other two heads by about 1/2 lb, incredibly sturdy (I primarily shoot 4x5 with it), and compact. I have mine on a Gitzo 1325 legset - a great combination.

If I were buying new myself I'd go with the GT3530LSV (same size as the Gitzo 1325) since I like the eye level shooting when the tripod is fully extended, and prefer three leg sections vs. four since I'm not too concerned about how long the tripod is when collapsed. For a head I think I'd go with the Markins M20 Left, though the RRS BH-55 might be a close competitor.
