I'm upgrading from CS2 to CS3 on a Mac. The installation has been completed and the registration has been accepted, but when I try to start CS2 or CS3 I get a message saying,

"Could not initialize Photoshop because the disk is not available"

I've tried loading the original software disk from both CS2 and CS3 into the CD tray, but neither helps. I've searched the various help documentation but can't find anything.

Any ideas or suggestions would be gratefully received!

I did a Google search on the error message and got the answer. Thanks.

If possible please delete this thread.

It might have something to do with your scratch disk. Did you rename or remove one of your drives?
