I honestly have no idea what's going on here... At first I thought it was a prank... but it's honestly not making any sound.

I really don't get any sound in the from Camera To Print in the Noise Reduction section... (ep 08). I'm playing it from my work computer, Windows XP with latest Quicktime, and it simply doesn't make sound (noise).
The eq in QT shows that sound is being generated, but nothing comes out.

Works in Media player, all other episodes work in QT. ^O^ Seriously, is it a joke? If so, good work! Had me going. ^O^ If not, uh, what a coincidence...

From the FAQ referenced in the forum description...

Q: My video is faulty: there is no audio!

A: Make sure you have the latest QuickTime Player (v. 7.2 +). Also some QuickTime video files have the volume control set to zero; try turning up the media player's volume control!

Or try VLC.

Did all that. that particular file simply didn't want to work for me. It was probably related to a software conflict, or probably just a silly thing like the old .sony trick on macs (of yesteryear).

I've got the same problem. I thought it was a joke as well at first, but there's no sound in the entire file mad.gif

Surely a few other people have bought this program and tried to watch it on quicktime. Every other segment is fine - until the file is fixed for Chapter 8, the Chapter is useless.

I can't believe only two people have this problem. Maybe there are only two of us who use windows sad.gif

Looks as if I'll have to try it in another video program.

EDIT: Chapter 8 works in VLC media player for those who have it. It does not work in Quicktime on Windows XP - there is no sound coming through.

There are many hundreds of Windows users successfully viewing the files. So far, almost everyone who has upgraded, reinstalled, or corrected the settings of the new QuickTime Player has solved this annoying problem - for those who couldn't get it to work, VLC was the solution

Thanks, Chrissand. Strange that it occurs with only one file. I figured after seeing the original post that it was a problem with the original compilation of this particular file and that no-one had got around to fixing it. I apologise for the tone of my message.

Glad to hear that almost no-one else came across the problem - it happens.
Must be just a weird conflict of some sort between this particular chapter's recording and quicktime.

Sorry to say just purchased C2P Tutorial today (18-Jan-2008) and I have the same problem with both this chapter 8 and chapter 10.

I have checked I have the latest Quicktime, all other chapters play fine, except 8 and 10 for me - I get no sound, which is wierd as the Quucktime sound bars, move whilst its playing, just like i the other chapters, but I hear nothing sad.gif

Any ideas?

If you are _certain_ that you have the latest QuickTime Player, I would suggest re-installing it. Occasionally on a Windows machine, the subsequent installation of another media player will cause this.

Thanks, this worked and there was a small update. I now have sound in both Chapter 8 and 10 by running Quicktime v7.4.
