Hi there just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences with the Hasselblad 503cw. This with a Leaf back and 80mm CF lens .. happened on about 6 shots out of 130 .. these ones were being shot in quick succession. File is a bit of a dog to show the difference in the dark areas. Any idea of what the problem might be?

Ah ha .. just realised ... the shutter speed was an 8th of a sec .. I must have been releasing the button too quickly.. but why only on the left?

Seems very strange as it's on the left. The auxilary curtain is an up and down mechanism. To hazard a guess, I would say one or more of the aperture blades are sticking.

Hmm why then the rectangular shadow? ... surely it would reflect the angles of the blades... R

Could it be part of the secondary shutter mechanism? In a 500C, there is a device inside the camera body that is independent of the shutter in the lens or the moving mirror. Not sure if a 503 has that or not.

The secondary shutter moves up and down, not side to side.

Were you using a lens hood when you took this? If so was there a light which was able to shine directly on a portion of your lens?

Hi there

I was using a Lee Filter Hood ... but there are just six from the set of say 25 taken from this position on a tripod .. the ones with this problem were all consecutive ... I might have moved it slightly ... but would that produce black areas? ... (There is always a bit of stray light coming from somewhere on stage) ... Could it have been electromagnetic interference from a mobile phone on the chip maybe? (Never heard of that kind of thing before though)

PS here's the sequence... first file has one example .. and second has a lot... files are lightened to show the black areas.
