hello
just bought a P21 for my contax and starting to think about accessories as I await its arrival. since my synch speed is only 1/125 a second I know I will need some Neutral Density filters at some point. As opposed to buying them I was thinking of using all my warming filters( 81 series, EF, etc ). Since I always use a Macbeth chart and neautralize off the grey square in C1 Pro, wont this take out any un-needed warmth that the warming filters will add? Not sure if this matters but I always warm up my color temps anyways. thanks in advance.

One reason I would not go that route. When white balancing back to neutral from the very warm tone, you are now taxing the use of the blue channel which is generally the weakest quality of RGB. You bought a P21, a $50-100 neutral filter shouldn't break the bank.

Also, having good quality thumbnails for all future archiving is much better than tons of overy warm image thumbnails. You may not be using Capture One forever and the embedded thumbnail is visible in many other apps. Has digital made us lazy?

If you have never noticed. A digital image taken under tungsten shot with a daylight setting will require an image that appears slightly overexposed, so that when white balanced, the image will come back to a normal looking exposure level.
