i was about to buy Five Lacie Rugged portable hard drives to deliver jobs on, but too expensive. does anyone know a good drive for this? it needs to be easy for both Pc/Mac users, and only need to be 40-100gb.

Have you looked at the Western Digital Passport Drives? I use the 80GB for job delivery. They can be had for around $80 with free shipping on buy.com. Have had no problems with them and clients seem to like them.

I believe the passport drives are USB?

I just purchased some OWC portable FW drives. I like how the case is made with a heat sink on the bottom. I bought the 200gig FW/800 7200 rpm version ... very nice.

They have many sizes and speeds ... with 40gigs under $100.

I have several of those OWC cases, also. You can put a business card inside the clear case when you use them for delivery to clients.
