I thought I'd leave a lighthearted look at what I resurrected today from a creation I did some years ago when I was shooting film with a Rollei 6001. I had cannibalized an old 2x3 Graflex bellows, got some Home Depot parts such rivets, metal rods, aluminum rails and made a view camera attachment that could be strapped to an extension tube to make it light tight with a 150mm Rodenstock 4x5 lens. The Rollei was a taller body when I made the view cam attachment so I'll need to redesign it to better suit the Mamiya AFD (for the moment it has a permanent 10-15mm rise), but for the time being it works.

A moody shot today of some junk sitting around the studio to make a small set. The beauty of it is that the camera shutter is used as normal with the 4x5 lens kept open. A little light painting for the headlights and some tungstens with strobe mix, moody color courtesy of Lightroom:

Its like a super lens baby, sort of. I would love to see this done with winder FOV lens.

that thing is kick ass! kind of improvising I like to see w/ digital - we did it w/our film camera, why not w/ DB?

Love the low-tech approach, here a pillowcase had to die....
