Full Version: techniques to reduce atmospheric haze

In my part of the country, atmospheric haze is common and often degrades my digital images. Although the local contrast enhancement variant of the unsharp mask and the haze cutter brushes of the Pixel Genius sharpening toolset are helpful, they are often insufficient. I would appreciate suggestions of additional techniques to reduce haze from forum members. Thank you very much.

A polarizer can also help.

Now if details are lost at capture time, there's nothing that can be done later. LCE or PKS haze reduction do - as noted above - help to regain contrast and remove the haze layer… Trying to combine LCE & PKS haze reduction might work but can also easily ruin the photos.
