Most (all?) of the dealers in Toronto want a deposit to get in line for a 1ds3.

I've dealt with Downtown Camera mostly, and Vistek as well, and without going into any details, I'm not satisfied with the service from either dealer.

So I guess that leaves Henrys and Aden. I'm not totally ruling out going back to Downtown, or Vistek, but the cards aren't stacked in their favour at this time.

Any suggestions - preferences?

Sadly I have found Vistek rude and casual in their attitudes (this is particularly jarring because, as a Brit originally, I find Canadian service usually to be very polite and helpful) so I will only use them when I have to.
Henry's try hard but as they are focussed essentially on the more mass market trade they are limited at the specialist end.
But there is a Henry's owned smaller specialist operation called 'Headshots' which I have found very helpful - it is aimed specifically at the professional market but they are prepared to be flexible about that if you have serious photgraphic needs and appetites and will sell you Hassies or even higher end Canons if you ask them nicely!!

I was going to suggest Harry's Pro Shop, but I just checked his website and he's not selling Canon equipment at this time. I'd recommend Headshots as a great company to deal with. (http://www.headshotsrentals.com/)

P.S. I was at a Henry's in Scarborough - once - but left because the clerks there were more interested in talking to each other than they were in talking to someone (me) on the other side of the counter.

I've been dealing with Joe Todd at Camera Canada in London for a few years and he seems very fair. He hasn't asked for a deposit for a 1DS III.

Well, I thought I'd give Downtown Camera at least a call... called at 9:30 this am (Nov 29) and I'm off to pick it up in the next hour! Surprise! I wonder if I bumped anyone
