Well, Nicolas just to name a couple:
Russel James - Hasselblad Masters 2007 and
Patrick Demarchelier - Hasselblad Masters 2003
( read this with arrogant voice ) last time I checked either one of them was waaayyyy more known than you and me together.

But (and a big butt) ... back then it was not a competition, like it has become now. Photographers were *selected* as Hasselblad Masters. smile.gif

Quite different i would say.

I thought I'd send along another image.  This was originally shot as a headlight exposure for strip but the picture grew on me and it's now the lead image in a direct mail piece I'm designing.  The car is a 1921 Farman, the camera is a Mamiya 645 and the back is a P45.  JimClick to view attachment

From last night, after clients left.
My studio is heated by a wood stove and to make the air not so dry I keep a large old wok on top filled with water...I boil things in it for weeks, boil dry, add more water, boil dry, add more water...everything in it turns a shiny black. When the composition is right I shoot it and start another. Been doing this for a few winters now.
This is Yerba Mate, Genmai Cha tea, various citrus peels, a whole banana and some small broken pieces of Eucalyptus bark.

Don't want this thread to die as it's fun seeing the great works of others.

I'm working on a couple images for our new website and came across this one that was shot June 6, 2007 at 4 p.m. 1/460 at f/3.5 with a 35mm lens. The camera was my Mamiya AFD II but the back was the loaner P30 that I had while I was waiting for my P30+.

Hi Don,

Hope 2008 is going great for you.

Can you please tell me where you took this fantastic image.

My replacement Mamiya 28mm has arrive in New Zealand about 10 days ago but the customs are dragging there feet.

I will post new images with the lens when I finally get it in my nervous hands.

Cheers

The last assigments for this client ended up with smiling people.

I`m glad I brought home something different this time.

Client is happy, thoug. And this is the picture that changed my client´s opinion about digital photography: from now on, I can always work digitally and don´t have to torture myself with my drumscanner.

Really didn’t known if I wanted to put this in recent works or the 28mm lens thread –

Here’s fast down and dirty beach shot from this afternoon. It was later afternoon when Ken got us here and of course it was raining. I did a small amount of workup on the image but more than likely missed a few rain drops… Mamiya AFD II 28 mm lens ISO 100; 1/5 at f/32.

Is the barman image a full frame or cropped image.

I find the 'posterized' noise in the extreme dark areas very 'present',regardless
of what iso setting was used

This image has been very strongly postprocessed, PS shadow/higlight and custom channel mixer BW conversion, and quite a bit cropped, and started out as something like ISO 1250 to boot ... I like the noise and weird look. If people here want, I can post the Raw. I do agree the shadows are blocking up a bit fast.

Edmund

Thanks for the extra info,Edmund.
I don't need a Raw file.

Was more curious how the image got to that point and you provided enough details.

Thx,
Mark
