Hello,

I'm having a strange problem with Camera Raw and opening a smart object in PS CS3 extended. Below is a photo of what is happening to my images. I believe all of my software and drivers are up to date. Here is a list of my versions. Any light that could be shed on this would be helpful.

Windows XP Professional
PS CS3 extended version 10.0.1
Bridge version 2.1.0.100
Camera Raw version 4.3.1
Dual core Pentium
4 Gb of ram
ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 512 Mb Ram w/ updated drivers

I tried looking at your attachment, but it is so small on my monitor that I don't understand what problems you are talking about. Could you post a larger image, or at least verbally describe what you are seeing?

A problem I have found in CS3 occurs sometimes when flattening multiple layers, where some of the effects disappear, or the image gets lighter. I also am using XPPro.

Here is a larger screen shot of the problem. Some form of pixalation is happening to the image.

Thanks,
Kurt

Kurt, I'm afraid I cannot help with your particular problem ... but your Bridge version is not up-to-date. The current version is 2.1.1.9.

Problems with Adobe imaging software can often get solved through resetting the preferences. When launching Bridge, Photoshop or Camera Raw, try pressing Crtl-Alt-Shift during start-up.

If that doesn't help then I'd consider uninstalling and re-installing Photoshop and Bridge. Don't forget to de-activate first.

Is it only this or all Raw's? Cause this Raw looks corrupted to me.

I concur with Andrew ... this looks like a corrupt image file.

You're saying this happens on all RAW files, but only if you open them as a smart object?
