With mac pro, dual quad core, if I buy 8 gb of add'l ram.....4ea 2gb sticks...do I remove the 2bg that comes in the machine and NOT reinstall it at all..? One post said not to use it, to hold onto it in case you ever need to return machine to Apple under warranty.....another post said to install the new memory in the first bays, then reinstall the original sticks after the new ones...?
thanks guys.

I just purchased the same machine. I installed the new 8gigs first then the originals last. If you are working with large files you might consider installing the VM Buffering plugin http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3623. Also you should enable the Bigger Tiles plugin. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=303235
