i own an h1 system with phase, and im wanting a wide option. i dont need much in the way of movements, just a body and sliding back to hold a 24 or 28 lens. the camera will only be used as a wide lens option to my h1 kit.

Forget about a sliding back with a 24.
Rainer has a custom made sliding back with his Gottshalt and a 28 Rodenstock.
You need deep pockets for these options.

Your cheapest option is the Horseman with a 24 Apo Digitar.

thanks. the cambo is pretty cheap. i already own a 35mm lens, so i really only want to use a 28mm.
because i havnt decided whether to buy a p30 or p45 to replace, i know that a p30 cant be used with movments much, but can it be used without movements with a 28mm?

I wouldn't recommend the P30 to put on the Cambo, especially with the 28mm. The microlenses
could pose a problem. I would go with the P45.

an Alpa TC works very well... and is quiet affordable compared to the other Alpa's

FOTOMAN seem quite cheap - I dont know if thery have got into production yet - they do list the 24 lens

But the TC is what you want - they arnt 'that' expensive if you consider a cheaper viewfinder like voightander

I think the horseman is the cheapest proven product check out robertwhite - I think they have had them in stock

and of course there is the imposibble to understand or enquire about in the UK silvestri system

Here in Denmark you can get an Alpa TC, without lens, for 1250 Euro.

If you need the finder, you can then add another 1023 Euro

If you only use it now and then, using the back for framing could be a doable compromise, it works fairly ok on the Leaf where the grid on the screen is a big help.

I would have to agree, the ALPA 12 TC is worthy of consideration. It is by far the best choice when zero movement, and the utmost precision is required.

Here is a link to some current USD prices on the entire ALPA 12 Range (ALPA 12 Link).

Also, the Rodenstock APO-Sironar Digital HR 28mm f/4.5 is certainly an attractive options as well. It would offer some flexibility down the road if you ever required additional shift capability, as it features a 70mm image circle.

However, for budget consideration, the Schneider APO-Digitar 24mm f/5.6 XL is going to help keep an ALPA 12 TC outfit under $8K.

As others have indicated, a sliding back, in conjunction with a digital-specific 24mm / 28mm lens is not a great idea. Not to mention it will add a considerable amount of weight and size the this type of camera.

I would check out the Fotoman. No experience with their technical camera, but I have one of their 6x12's and it's an excellent camera. Good design, engineering and production. You'd be able to put together a rig for half the price of any other option, and adding additional lenses would be extremely cheap.

I realize the tolerances between a 6x12 and a MFDB wide angle solution are drastically different, but from what I have seen of their production I don't see why they couldn't nail it. It's also a very small company, you can get a hold of the owner directly to ask him your questions.

If you do get one, please post your experience, there is no information out there.

The alpa tc is a sweet camera. I'd love one with a mid wide for travel.
