Hi,

I'm a happy user of a Canon G7. The shutter mechanism is absolutely quiet, but the sharp beep that the camera gives when it focuses gives it away. How do I kill this anoying beep? I can't find it in the menu...

Thanks and regards,
Giedo

Press the Menu button. Click the joystick one click to the right to get the Tools menu. The first option is "Mute." Turn Mute to On. This turns off the annoying beep.

Gosh, how simple things can seem and still be overlooked...
Thanks!

Sure, but it's hardly simple -- it's another typically stupid menu option. You have to turn Mute to the On position to turn the beeping Off. Not intuitive.

Here's an idea: a Menu option that says "Beep: On, Off."

Nah, that's too obvious.

Glad to help.
