The G9's viewfinder is almost better than nothing tongue.gif , but I can't work out if my eyes are deceiving me. If I adjust the viewfinder diopter at wide angle then zoom in the vf seems out of focus. Anyone else noticed this? Is it my eyes or camera at fault?

I wear glasses and find the viewfinder on the G9 to be totally useless for me. (Unlike the viewfinder on my 1D Mark III's.) So I use only the LCD. Besides the inability to get a totally clear (for me) image, the small size and darkness make it worthless. Of course it's worse for me because I'm comparing it to the 1DIII which is among the best.

The G9 is a pretty nice camera (great that it has RAW) but the fact is that it's still a glorified point and shoot.

The viewfinder was one of the reasons for me to get the G9. But the viewfinder is worthless. Bad focus, bad parallax. I've now gotten used to the LCD as finder and started to like it. Don't even need the 4x loupe anymore I used to use the LCD as finder. Sigma has this great slip on viewfinder, but it's expensive and you'll still have the parallax. Looks great though (but I'm not getting it ohmy.gif)
