Full Version: Cambo Sliding Adapter Question

I have been offered a Cambo Sliding Back for a Cambo (not Ultima) 4x5 camera. I checked the Cambo site, and they list three models for the 4x5 size: Cambo 4x5, Ultima 4x5 and Sinar. I'd like to know whether the Sliding Back can be changed from Cambo to Sinar by using the appropriate adapter/part. Or do I have to buy a Sinar type adapter?

Cheers,
Kumar

I'll PM you with the cambo contact you should email to ask this question for a definitive answer. Maybe Cambo already have such an adapter.

What I can say (as owner of the stitching version) is that there is a plate which screws onto the Cambo back which can be altered to fit on to different cameras and standards. If one doesn't currently exist for the Sinar fitting then Cambo will probably be able to custom make you one. In my case I took this plate off and made my own prototype adapter which interfaces to the Ebony cameras via the international back.

Thanks, Paul. I sent you a PM with a couple of questions.

Cheers,
