Im not surprised I think its been dead in tht water for some time now.

I'm wondering why Pentax didn't redesign the 645D to accept 3rd party digital backs - that could open up a bigger market compared to a "monolithic" design. And they would only tackle the digital part if/when ready. I guess their DSLR's with Limited lenses are a safer bet...

I and my 18 Pentax 645 and 67 lenses have waited patiently for the 645D. I will be interested in what you hear; in particular, what Pentax means when they announce the end of the 645D but will continue deveopment of MF digital. Reference (in Japanese) here:

Too bad, any insight would have been appreciated. I must admit however that I'm skeptical that anyone at Pentax knows what the future holds.
