I have an early edition Mac Pro and have had an NEC 2690 working with it without difficulty. Just upgraded to Leopard and a Radeon 2600 video card and, no video. At all. What cabling should I be using to connect the 2690 to the Mac Pro? Any other thoughts as to why there is no video coming through?

I just installed a 2600 XT in my Mac Pro 1.1..With Leopard, it is plug and play. If the card is well seated and locked in place..probably bad card. Call Apple support...my monitor went black after 6 hours fine after reboot but that was not encouraging.

Do I use the DVI connection on the monitor and the Mac ( an early Mac Pro)?

There is a specific 2600 for the Mac Pro..order from Apple Store $149, free shipping...no drivers to install..DVI connection..

If you didn't buy from Apple, it is unlikely that you have the correct card..BTW @ $149, it is a "cheap" upgrade for a Mac. I ordered mine online and it arrived in <24 hours with the "free" shipping option.

My Radeon 2600XT is NOT Mac specific. Hopefully, that is the issue. I will return this one and order another from the Apple Store.

I made the same mistake...I bought a card and was assured by the sales staff that it would work in a mac..just down load the drivers..Wrong..Only the 1900 xt and the 2600 xt Mac specific will work unless you do a hack or run under MS software. BTW, the 1900 is not a good option.

Thanks. Now I can get back to worrying about installing the Leopard Graphics Update, which seems to cause the "blue screen" problem with my Mac Pro. However, I guess I need to install it along with the Radeon 2600 XT Firmware Update in order for the latter to work properly.
