Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to this forum and want to show you some of my recent work. I have been hoping for snow here in Belgium the whole winter and finally last weekend we got some. You had to get out early because by noon most of the snow was already melting away.

The road in the second one catches my eye and sends it to the tree which then directs it up to the sun. Well done.

I really like the subdued quality of all three. I think the third one has too much negative space at the top, and agree with the above consensus that the second one is the most striking. Well done, and welcome to the board.

Here in the Yukon, we don't have a whole lot of problem seeing snow [we still have lots on the ground] but here is a local area at sunrise [10:30 am] just after Christmas.

It's a great shot but I wish both the moon and the horizon were not in the middle...although I do not personally move things around in PS - this one I would! Move the moon much lower and to the right and cut the sky down by half.....

But I still like it...

Thanks for the suggestion Bill. You are not the first to make a similar suggestion and I think that I will give it a try. Will test my mediocre Photoshop skills.

Hi Dick,

Although I agree with Bill's suggestions in general, I don't agree in this case. In your photograph,with the horizon being centered up and down, and the moon being centered left and right, creates a very static image. This is what makes this shot work. This 'static" composition, helps best convey the cold and stillness seen in this image. Sometimes rules need to be broken and in my opinion this is one of those times. Also the tree on the left and the smaller one on the right, leads and keeps you in the photo...Well done.
