I'm using CS3 with the latest version of camera raw. Everything worked fine but now when I drag and drop a raw into PS the system hangs, if I go through the open dialogue in PS then I get a preview but I get "Windows No Disk. Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75B6BF9C 4 75b6bf9c75b6bf9c" I then get the option to abort retry or continue. If I continue the system freezes.

I haven't installed any new software or made any changes to my system other than adding 1gb more ram. PS works fine with jpgs and everything else works. I've done a repair on CS3 and when that didn't help I did a full removal and reinstall.

Searching the net shows lots of people with the problem which people attribute to lots of things, none of which are my problem.

Any ideas?

Anyone?

It's a problem with Windows not with Photoshop so you will have more success on a PC forum rather than here.

Are you sure that you stop devices (memory cards, USB sticks) before removing them for the system? Sounds like one of your applications is expecting to see an attached storage device which is no longer there. You could try inserting and stopping devices (before removing them) to see if that resets/ clears the problem.

Thanks i'll try that although i've tried booting without any stop devices inserted. I've trawled lots of forums but none of their suggestions have helped so far. The problem only affects my raw processing in PS, I can even open jpgs as raw without a problem. It's only the real raws.

I think my system might be overdue for a reformat anyway...

Reformatting has worked. What a mess.
