Hats off to Lens Work for showing HDR photos. smile.gif

I think the HDR really works in those photos. The air of unreality actually enhances the images. This is another excellent issue.

Hi BlasR,

New Mexico was fantastic. About two thousand images in three weeks, from sandstorm at White Sands; pelicans, avocets and Bianchi Pheasants (never heard of them before) at Bosque; lots of Anasazi ruins (mostly at Chaco Canyon); and weird rock formations at Bisti and Plaza Blanca (in Abiquiu). Dust all over the sensor of my 5D, so I have lots of spotting to do in PS (the clone tool is my friend).

Except for the winds (especially at White Sands and Bisti), weather was just about perfect.

I'll try to post a few in another weeks or so.

No cranes, but lots of other birds. Three kinds of egrets, American Avocet, white-faced Ibis, White Pelicans, both Ring-necked Pheasant and Bianchi Pheasant, one Osprey, lots of ducks, coots, grebes, etc. It was pretty spectacular for "off-season". The nice thing is there were no bird-watchers there. We had the place pretty much to ourselves.

I'll post some soon.

I really love Jim Laurence's portfolio. I've long had a fascination with pipes and industrial machinery, and I find his aesthetic very compelling.
