I often shoot small birds flying from about 3 feet. I prefocus and it's hit or miss.
Is the Focus Trap fast enough to catch a birds flying into the focused fov.
Thanks for any thoughts,

Given the fact that the focus needs to be evaluated with the mirror down I don't think it will be fast enough for your use. On the other hand: the Hy6 is very well suitable for pre-focused high speed photography. If you use a light-bridge and set the camera to ultra-fast mode you can get shutter delays as short as 2 milliseconds when you use a PQS lens. So, the bird crosses the focus line and it will take 2 milliseconds before your flash gun fires. (And since Rollei lenses use a leaf shutter you can choose a shutter sync speed up to 1/1000sec.) This is faster than any competing camera (except for the Rolleiflex 6008 cameras of course, that were already incorporating this feature, called quick-release mode.)
