Full Version: Scotland - the Slate Islands

Wim van Velzen
hi all,

Last April/May we as a family spent a few weeks on the small Slate Islands, off the Argyll mainland coast in Scotland.

Very quiet, very beautiful esp. the vistas over all the islets and rocky craigs, bathing in spectacular light.

As I found stitching panoramas quite nice last year, I worked quite a lot on panoramas. Not always easy to find a nicely balanced composition.

Some macros as well - Spring is a great time to be in Scotland.

You can find the portfolios through here.

btw - all photographs are made with a Rollei, 132C digital back and 40mm-180mm lenses.

Lovely portfolio, and the others too. Thanks for sharing this work.

Hi Wim - I am very envious of your trip! I really like the bramble/slate close-up - it has a very atmospheric light and is so typical of that part of the world. How many people marched past and didn't see it, I wonder?

Thanks for the compliments, guys!

I added some more portfolios, this time of the Argyll mainland opposite the Slate Islands: new portfolios.
