What brand of AA batteries have you found reliable with a Mamiya AFD II and Phase DB? Any problems with 1.2v rechargables?
Thanks

I prefer to use Energizer Lithium AA batteries in the Mamiya----lighter and last substantially longer than regular Energizer or Duracell AAs.

I also use the Lithium Energizer when I can find them.

I tried several AA rechargeables but they don't seem to last long. 2200 and 2500 milliamp. They seem to work fine at first but after an hour or so, they fall off and the camera will show low battery and won't work correctly.

There is something in the AFDIII and AA rechargeables support. Not sure what.

Should note these were an older set of AA's that I use in my 550 and 580 flash when on external battery ( still need the internals to get the controls). They are 2 years or so old, and may just be worn out. Am going to try a newer set next time.

I use the Energizer or Duracell regulars and they last plenty long for the cost and convenience. I just carry 6 fresh spares in the bag at all times. No chance you could wear a fresh set in a day of shooting, and probably not even under heavy use for 2 or 3 days. Lithiums are lighter in weight though, and that might be a consideration. ..

I use 2700mah rechargeables when I am here at home, and have an extra loaded battery holder for the AFD ready to go into service when needed. When I am abroad, I plan on using lithiums due to the lighter weight and they are longer lasting. I do plan on bringing expired batteries back home with me, too. I used to love rechargables overseas, but I found myself always looking for an outlet for other chargers, and this is one less charger to worry about (or pack).

I only use Lithium Energizer batteries. I’m currently on Day 42 of a trip to Alaska and have only had to change the batteries once. I stocked up on 8 packs before leaving Tucson and always carry a spare set in by bag with the rest stashed away in the truck camper

I just bought 12 of the energizer lithiums and will try them out when I return Home

For use with the new Phase One 645 DF, does anybody have any experience with the Powerex MH-C204W charger and the Powerex AA 2700mAh Rechargeable NiMH Batteries?
