If you print on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308 with the B9180 , I would like to know (1) which “paper type” you select and (2) which ICC profile you use (e.g., Hahnemuhle's downloadable paper-specific profile). Thanks.

I use Smooth Fine Art settings in the SMT of course.
The Smooth FA profile is close enough too , and HP posted a profile for H PR on their site.
I also have a profile for PR 308 which should be okay.
On the Yahoo 9180 user group there are also profiles, perhaps a PR one.

Thank you. Just to clarify, do you select HP Hahnemuhle Smooth Fine Art as the media and for the profiile?

Thanks.

Yes for both. Quality mode at best is always the better choice for matte type of papers, and some semi matte too if max detail is presented. The drop size of the matte black is bigger than the Max detail screening hence it is sometimes shows results equal to or better. The only times where max detail is better for matte is greyscale if there is a lot of contrast lines.

Thanks. Your comment about the differences between the best and the maximum dpi quality settings provides a basis for making a meaningful choice.

Neil, have you had good prints with HPR? I have been very disappointed with the quality of prints on this paper despite trying out all profiles available (yes, I have tried the profiles from the Yahoo group as well). Unfortunately, i have not received my ColorMunki yet and have not created my own profiles.

The best Mat paper i have used (and recommend) on the B9180 is HP's Smooth Fine Art & Somerset Velvet.

Yes Smooth is good and others have said Someset is good. Epson Enhanced matte is also good.
As I was saying PR is not great for color, but very good on greyscale.

Have you used Epson Enhanced matte with success? If so, with what paper type and profile? (I believe that some select the HP Hahnmuhle Smooth Fine Art paper type and profile when printing on the Epson paper.)
