Hi:
I had been under the impression that sensor bloom was the occurrence of bright areas spilling into adjacent darker areas. Like when a bright window starts to spill over onto the darker window frame and causes those areas to loose contrast and look flared. When I research "sensor bloom" I find people discussing it as if it were CA or fringing.

So does this have a name? What causes it?

I use a P45+ on a Cambo Wide DS with Schneider Digitar lenses.

I think what you are seeing is just over exposure in your image area. It really isn't blooming, but is an old term that was frequently used in the first few generations of DBs. CA and fringing are being addressed in Phase One's C1 4.1. They have some great new tools that will help with both issues.

This is not isolated to digital only.....happens with film as well. have seen it plenty times when i used to assist and we would be shooting interiors with a lot of window light coming in. though i can't really say how to fix it other than reduce your exposure.
