Many of my usual Epson profiles which are visible in CS3 seem to be hiding from Lightroom2 Print module. Is there something about importing or changing their location that I'm missing? BTW I'm using a standard Epson 3800 on a Mac G5 pre Intel with Leopard. I have downloaded and installed the latest print drivers. Anything anybody can think of will be appreciated. John

Are you talking about ICC output profiles or media settings?

I was speaking of icc output profiles from Epson and others for printing. Thanks.

Yes, I am referring to ICC profiles that have been created for specific paper surfaces.

In the print module, under the profile section, select other and check the profiles,in the dialogue that pops up, you wish to have visible.

Yes, I understand and have done that but the profiles that are visible in the print section of CS3 are not visible in Lightroom 2. I am wondering if it is a case of Lightroom not looking in the same place. BTW both CS3 and Lightroom are installed on the same Mac, same drive. I'm confused. John

If you're on a Mac, run the ColorSync Utility's first aid to see they are all Kosher. I've heard reports of some profiles NOT showing up due to issue internal to the profiles. Oddly, they do show up in Photoshop.

Thanks. That's the answer. I just ran the utility and the profiles I was not seeing were bad and the utility could not fix them. Oddly enough they are not only being recognized by CS3 but also by Lightroom 1.3.1 on the same Mac. John

Can you conduct a color space conversion with these profiles in Photoshop? If so, what's the error in the CS utility? It might be minor and, this could partially be a LR2 bug. If you can convert, the profiles are "good enough" in my book.

I ran the color sync utility and got 471 bad profiles out of 678. Problem with most was "tag size not correct." Utility was able to fix one of the 471. This is getting way above my tech ability. Maybe I should reinstall Lightroom 2.

A new install probably will do nothing.

This is a minor issue but one that theoretically cause an application issues. Were you able to use any in Photoshop?

One thing you can also try, might work, if you open the profiles, you can resave them. So double click on one. You'll have to do a minor edit. You'll see a 'desc' tag where you can click and edit a field of the internal name of the profile. Just alter that (change say Epson 3800 to Epson 3800edit). Then you can resave this as a NEW profile. Does it now show up?
