I will be spending 7 days in Northern Ireland the last week of November, with 3 days based in Belfast, and the remaining 4 days unplanned. I would appreciate any recommendations for good landscape photo locations (seacoast, castles, coastal ports) as well as suggestions for best towns and B&B's to stay (near sites).
Thanks
My favourite locations are Newcastle and environs for Murlough beach and the Mourne mountains, Strangford lough with its many islands, and the Antrim coastine, especially the North Antrim Coast leading to the Giants Causeway. Ballintoy with its picturesque harbour and nearby White Park Bay are definitely worth a visit.
It would be very easy to spend 3-4 days in just these locations doing landscapes. However at the end of November you could spend 3-4 days waiting for the weather to clear. It can be more than atmospheric and just downright dismal. Judging by the amount of rain that we have had recently you could be in luck 'cos there can't be that much left for the rest of the year!!!
Most of these towns (Newcastle, Strangford, Portaferry, Ballintoy, Bushmills and others should have plenty of B&Bs and November should be easy enough to find vacancies. There is a Youth Hostel at White Park Bay which has a good reputation.
Hope this is of some help.
Regards
Richard
